I think the rules should stay as they are. Tags and insurance in Kansas are ridiculously high so if a car is Kansas legal and has an alternator and cooling system theres no reason it's not a street car.
The debate over big tire cars is also a non-issue on the track where small tire cars hook every bit as good and a 10.5W small tire is nearly as big anyway.
The callouts through the forum draws interest and keeps it visible but I think a text or phone call possibly by the Chief or a fellow lister if someone isn't responding to the call out as a heads up would be nice.
All the whining about this and that is going to kill this deal. I personally don't care that one of us has a gutted back halved mini car with lexan windows and aluminum dash because it's tagged. Just as my all glass window full weight 14" tire car is. I got 1 1/2 seconds faster last year trying to beat this very car and that's what list racing is all about.

The Outlaw class did not work last year. I think we all can agree about that. Adam and a few others have a concern about a big tire no frills car coming in and cleaning house. I propose 2 lists, #1 Daily driver/Weekend warrior: Sm tire, full interior, must drive to track, tag and insured, no fiberglass, no 4 link, no ladder bars, ect.... #2 Street class, more extreme, tag, insurance, 30 miles/$100 if questioned, any tire run, no lexan Maybe from time to time the 2 classes battle it out. Gonna need 3 lists cause Adam violates rules on both of these and I don't think we should discriminate against a worthy competitor. See what this mess is turning into? Feelings get hurt in racing.

This was originally a small local no money "bragging rights" list. Wichitas fastest street cars for wichitas track. This wasn't a copy of the "Street Outlaws" TV show. It was setup for cars actually driven on the street. Not saying thats what everyone wants this year... or that it's the best way to do it. I agree 2 lists is the way to go. The outlaw/street list rules would have worked great last year. When Zach got lax with the rules allowing trailered cars to enter the "street list" that's when the outlaw class disappeared. Why run outlaw when you can run slower guys on the street list? Thats what I thought anyway... I think not sticking to the rules is what kills a class. The List rules are all still there, and would work great if we actually stuck to them. I do run a lexan windshield so I'd be DQ'd for either if thats a requirement. Which is no big deal to me... No hurt feelings. These are still posted on the tracks website. Street www.kansasdragway.com/wp-content/2014Files/StreetRules.pdfOutlaw www.kansasdragway.com/wp-content/2014Files/OutlawRules.pdfAll the whining about this and that is going to kill this deal. We know that 56 isn't "full weight" !

Who on this list doesn't street drive their cars? Can't expect people to drive a fast car long distances everytime and Zac realized that early on so he dropped that requirement. I want to see Reggies bad ass blazer list race but to require him to drive it from Topeka is crazy.

Whatever on your $500 engine. You have more in your lil rocket than my fat azz 56 and I assure you it's full weight. All steel in back and very old school 125lb remove able front clip. Mine was Pro Street before I molested it with show quality paint. Ever seen how much it twists? Race cars don't do that.

Trey has big tires, Adam has Lexan, I have a 12 second car, we all have problems. This is the reason I was trying to stay away from the going crazy on a bunch of rules. I would like to see more racing.

The rules evolved to where they need to be. More rules and classes will turn this into a high school car list that no one wants to see. Having the biggest tires didn't put me on top last year and neither did turbos and lexan for Adam.

Mine was Pro Street before I molested it with show quality paint. Ever seen how much it twists? Race cars don't do that. www.usa1industries.com/1955-56-chevy-truck-hood.html. Have your car on the scales recently? Whats that 56 weigh? What did the OEM Steel inner/outer fenders and hood (bumper?) weigh? I know they didn't use that cheap thin china steel back in 56! According to this site the steel replacement hood alone was 151lbs. Each fender was also 150lbs. Plus inner fenders and paint/hardware. I'd say 125lb glass front end takes quite a bit of weight off. I don't see how a gutted and backhalved chassis with a glass front end is considered full weight? I guess "Full weight" is about as descriptive as "street car" though. If you want to play that game my car is over "full weight". It's much heavier than it was from the factory, uses all steel in the back and has more cage. You can "whatever" all you want... The engine I raced last year was a $500 craigslist find with an untouched bottom end (including hardware and bolts), untouched oem heads, and a truck cam. That Rx7 was a 3k roller with the rear and cage already done. It was a VERY cheap setup. Had well under 10k the whole setup when it went 8.9x. It really is a rinky dink setup with very little invested. Had to add almost 2k worth of safety BS to it this year. Also put together a $1600 short block so it's not as budget as it was. Shots fired!!!! You guys are funny. Racing season can't come soon enough. Gonna be hurt feelings when pump gas full weight car comes and cleans up the list. Lets see a picture of this beast!

Im fine with the rules Ryan already stated and i have a slow full body, almost full interior, all glass, small tire stock suspension car i drive to work 3-5 days a week. No sense in complicating things, keep it simple and lets have some fun!

The feelings crusher is 3250+ depending on what's in the 17 gallon tank not including my obese azz. The all steel rat offsets the glass bumper by a mile I'm sure. Title weight is 3100 with the ol 6cyl it was born with.

I dont care if your car is big tire, small tire, turbo'd, nitrous injected, import or domestic car. Hell i dont even care what your car weighs with or without your obese azz in it. The whole point to this is to make sure you are a street car. If you only drive your car AT the track and trailer it everywhere you go... Then its not a street car in my opinion and should not be able to contend in this "street class". The 30 mile cruise will HELP out with this situation. We could add in on the "set dates" that we all meet somewhere in Wichita and unload the cars necessary and drive out to the track as one big happy and dysfunctional family. That way 3 or 4 times a year you prove without any money being involved that you can drive your car and it is "streetable" ?

The support vehicles and trailers are welcome to follow you out there so you would still have your trailer and tools if needed.
